Nigeria Vs Liberia WCQ Venue Revealed

The venue for Super Eagles opening World Cup qualifier against Liberia has been revealed.

Nigeria open their 2022 World Cup qualifying campaign with a home clash against the Lone Stars in September.

The 2022 World Cup qualifiers were initially scheduled to start in June, but CAF moved it to September as some countries host stadiums did not meet FIFA’s standards.

And now Super Eagles coach Gernot Rohr has disclosed that the Nigeria/ Liberia clash will take place at the Teslim Balogun Stadium, Lagos.

The three-time African Champions are now set to stay in Lagos for their opening World Cup qualifier after hosting Lesotho in their final 2021 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers in March at the same stadum.

Rohr confirmed this after the international friendly games against Cameroon.

“The fans are welcome, we hope that the fans can come to the stadium in September that this crazy pandemic which is making things difficult for everybody will allow them to be with us,” Rohr said.
