Oge Kimono has announced plans to launch a biography on her late dad, Ras Kimono, as the world remembers his works three years after his demise.
On June 10, 2021, exactly three years since the demise of Kimono, his daughter has put together a symposium and public presentation of a book on Ras Kimono titled “He fought Babylon with his Music.”
The book compiled by Dr. Uche Uwaezuoke Okonkwo of the department of History and International Studies, University of Nigeria, Nsukka, will showcase how the late musician’s songs greatly influenced issues.
According to Oge Kimono, the late musician stood for justice and never compromised anything that was anti-people.
“I am happy that my father’s works have not been in vain, people have recognized his massive contributions to the society and have decided to tell his story through a book. It is not every day you have books written about artists in Nigeria, my father is one of the few ones that this has happened to.
