The Chairman of Oto-Awori LCDA, Lagos State, Prince Musibau Adekunle Asafa has been praised and eulogised for his commitment towards ensuring that all members of staff are given required attention in terms of welfare.
This was made known during the official visit of the Lagos State Local Government Service Commission led by its Chairman, Mr Kamal Baiyewu to the Council Secretariat recently. Addressing the press at the event, Asafa said the vision envisaged by his administration cannot do without the productive effort of the staff. In his words, the role played by any employee is germane to the development of the Council area. Therefore providing an enabling environment and welfare is also key to having an efficient workforce.
He however, encouraged staff to continue to have the right attitude to work, indicating the immense benefit thereof while chastising the indolent ones who have continued to siphon the resources of the Local Council into their pockets. “I have repeated times without number that staff engagement is fundamental to this administration and we are determined to engage the management through the Head of Administration and the Human Resources Department. We would therefore carry out qualitative programmes and give superlative welfare to staff”.
The Chairman of the Lagos Local Government Service Commission, Mr Kamal Bayewu noted that the only way staff could be given attention is for them to be efficient in producing the desired results. He also warned against members of staff that involved themselves in revenue racketeering and promised that the Commission is ready to deal with such staff henceforth. He further said, any employee who failed to be effectual in duty may not enjoy the fruitfulness of the organisation.
